Ahead of the Bihar Assembly election, the ECI has set out to remove all the bogus voters from the list to make an effective outcome during the election. As per the EC’s directions, every eligible voter is required to submit an enumeration form. Those who were born after 1987 and added to the rolls after January 1, 2003, will have to additionally provide proof of their citizenship with documents, including a birth certificate, passport, caste certificate, or educational certificates.

The EC said that filling out the form and providing a birth certificate is necessary for showing their citizenship and availability. As of now, there is almost a 12 crore population living in Bihar, but only 73.91 lakh registrations of births have been submitted. Several reports say most of the people in the region don’t have birth certificates, and they could face issues getting some benefits.

During this survey doubtful voters will be identified, and they may face certain issues. Opposition claims that almost 2 crore voters became disenfranchised in Bihar’s roll revision.
