The electoral revision process has begun in Bihar, with voter surveys currently underway. All individuals who have turned 18 and were born after 2003 are advised to submit their enumeration forms by July 25.

As part of the special intensive revision of electoral rolls ordered by the EC ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls, residents of the state were required to quickly fill out a form to verify their citizenship. All persons who are now approximately 18 years old and were born between 2003 and 2007 must provide documents confirming their relationship with their parents.

Only 20 Days Left to Submit Required Documents

The EC has directed that the revision process be concluded by July 25To facilitate this, over 77,000 BLOs, in conjunction with other government personnel and political workers, are required to verify the backgrounds of more than 7.8 crore registered electors as part of the registration exercise.e. The opposition is criticizing this step taken by the Election Commission ahead of the legislative polls, arguing that the approach is negative and could create obstacles for the RJD’s voters.

What documents need to be submitted? 

When registering to ensure your voting presence, it is essential to bring eleven specific documents. The eleven documents specified by the EC for those not figuring in the 2003 electoral rolls include any identity card/pension payment order to an employee or pensioner of any PSU, a document issued by any government/local authority/bank/post office/LIC/PSU before July 1, 1987, a birth certificate issued by a competent authority, a passport, a matriculation/educational certificate issued by recognized boards/universities, and a permanent residence certificate issued by a competent state authority.
