In the first inning of the match, India’s bowlers had already done most of the groundwork by limiting Pakistan to 127/9, with spin from Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel tearing through the middle and lower order.

As India commenced their run chase, Suryakumar Yadav played a calm and controlled innings, finishing unbeaten on 47, including a six to close the match. His knock may not have been explosive in terms of strike rate, but in the context of birthday pressure and rivalry intensity, it stood out as a captain’s class.

Abhishek Sharma exploded out of the blocks with a fiery 31 off 13 balls, injecting momentum into what was otherwise a modest target. Tilak Varma also played his part, offering stability when early wickets threatened.

A Day of Substance and Sentiment

SKY used his special day to send a message that he dedicated the win to India’s armed forces and to victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. His leadership was evident not just in his batting but in how the team responded: disciplined bowling, intelligent fielding, and controlled chase.
