Williamson took unbelievable catch and dismissed Tanzid Hasan in the CT 2025 Clash

Kane Williamson’s hands were on the spot as he took a stunning catch and helped his team to get an early breakthrough against Bangladesh in the ongoing Champions Trophy game in Rawalpindi. Micheal Bracewell striked on his 2nd delivery and sent Tanzid Hasan back to the pavilion complemented by stunning efforts of Williamson. It was a fuller ball from Bracewell targeting the stumps, and Hasan tried to play it across the line. The Bangladesh opener, however, misjudged the shot and ended up with an inside edge.

Kane Williamson was lightning-fast in response, diving to his left to snag an incredible catch. This brought an end to Tanzid’s impressive 24-run innings, which included a boundary four and two sixes, giving New Zealand a crucial early advantage in their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match in Rawalpindi.

Earlier in Rawalpindi, Black Caps captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and decided to bowl first. His bowlers have been so impressive so far, taking 2 wickets inside 2 overs against Bangladesh. Well, the Black Caps entered into the crucial game on the back of their dominating 60-run win over Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener in Karachi.

On the other hand, Bangladesh came into the match after a six-wicket defeat against India in Dubai. Santner said at the toss, “It looks like a good wicket. We trained a lot in different grounds, but there might be some dew here. Two changes here: Kyle Jamieson is in for Nathan Smith, and Rachin Ravindra is back in. Always good to play in conditions where you will be playing an eventual tournament in the lead-up (referring to the recent Tri-nation ODI series).”

New Zealand is playing this crucial game on the back of their dominating 60-run win over Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener in Karachi. On the other hand, Bangladesh came into the match after a six-wicket defeat against India in Dubai.
