Mizoram

Strong mountains with Shallow Depths in Mizoram

Mizoram: Mountains are the hard rocks touching the soft blanket of clouds. The roads are snaking around, giving a beautiful view of the mountains and clouds meeting midair. The mesmerizing sunrise unfolds as the sun rises from behind the mountains, casting its golden light upon the hills and making them glow like embers from afar.

The air is crisp, filled with the promise of a new day, as the world awakens to this breathtaking spectacle. Standing tall, the corporate buildings, professional hubs, schools & colleges, and small, cozy houses around the city are evidence of life on the hill. The house appears far away, but people are close enough to know each other.

Mountains, away from the hustle and bustle of the plains, are places to relax and enjoy the vacations. Soothing and peaceful environment to bring back the calmness in the mind. The layer of the trees and grasses gives a wonderful view of the forest all over the hills with the essence of fresh air and flowing wind.

Mizoram, a state in Northeast India that counts as one of the seven sisters, is another place full of mountains. The tribals, who lived their lives with simplicity, and the youngsters, full of life, enjoyed the freedom and western lifestyle. Their visit to church every Sunday is a sight to behold, when most of the Christians are found in church, all dressed up and welcoming.

Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram, is a well-developed city hub, a place to shop and have fun, the headquarters of the government, and the central place where all the important decisions are made for people in the state. At night, the city gives the perfect view of city lights at night from far street lights. The lights stealing away from the small windows of buildings and houses mesmerize the person and make them stop and praise the view in front.

Mizoram University, MZU, is 8 to 10 kilometers away from Aizawl City, another living place in Mizoram. Here, younger people gather around for studies. It is a huge and beautiful campus with many different departments and magnificent buildings, some at the bottom and others at the top of the hills. The football ground at the end is the place where athletes gather round to play and cheer as well as enjoy the game.

The villages around the city are peaceful locations with tribes living a simple and routine life. Some are doing jhoom cultivation as forests are burned in Mizoram every year to clear the land for terrace farming. Many people sell vegetables, beef, and pork for survival.

The state shares borders with Myanmar from districts like Champhai and others. It is good to see how peacefully Mizoram shares borders with Myanmar, but it is also a cause of concern, as it is easy to smuggle drugs and liquor from Myanmar to Mizoram due to demographic issues of the region.

Thus, Mizoram is a stunning collection of hills, giving a wonderful view of sunrise and sunset every dawn and dusk. There are many hidden truths on the other side of the mountain, including serious health issues like AIDS, which arise from factors such as unawareness, drug addiction, ITC (injection drug use), and insurgency-related challenges.

Therefore, the concerned authority, the central government, needs to think about the region and take the required action to resolve the issues.
