Northeast (Aizawl): People often enjoy a peaceful surrounding with positive intentions that make them feel happier and relaxed. Nowadays, it is hard to get time to relax in the age of artificial rush. It is necessary to keep your mind active, as it helps to work innovatively.
In the hustle and bustle of daily working life, many places in India offer stunning views and natural beauty where you can explore, enjoy, and create lots of memories. Aizawl is one of the hidden sights, located on the slope of hills in the northeastern state of Mizoram. The region reflects more enthusiasm among travelers and young generations who are keen to explore natural beauty.
The place witnesses more sites with natural engagement, window-type houses settling on slopes, wild areas with multiple plants, sightseeing, sun lighting, and flowing chilled rivers through the mountains, providing an unforgettable experience telling stories about the hidden fissures in the mountains and the formation of the region.
Generally, finding a flowing river is a little bit tough in an elevated hilly region, but we have found “Tlawng River,” which passes nearby the Indian Institute of Mass Communication’s campus, Aizawl. It is one of the major rivers in the region, known as the tributary of the Kaladan River. The river originates from Zopui Hill near Zobawk, near Lunglei.
The river flows in a northward direction and enters Assam, passing through five districts. Obviously, the beauty reflects from this river as it shows crystal-clear water where you can clearly see the internal layer beneath the water.
As the best sightseeing location, the river provides several memories from trails, mud houses where farmers grow crops in elevated areas, and several big stones portraying various stories, like someone has thrown small stones down from the mountains.
Sitting on the bank of a river, people enjoy getting fresh air and taking a dip in the water. They also celebrate with friends, as it is one of the hidden picnic spots near the MZU campus.
In the city, wooden-made houses are more attractive with glitter lighting. But the Tlawng River becomes the major source for maintaining the livelihood of the people, as it is a necessary source of potable water for the state.
The Tlawng River is not just a natural marvel but a lifeline that nurtures both the environment and the people who call Aizawl home. Its serene waters offer a retreat from the chaotic pace of modern life, providing moments of solitude and reflection.
Whether it’s the students unwinding after a long day, locals relying on its pristine waters, or travelers seeking an untouched paradise, the river remains an integral part of the region’s beauty and heritage. Embracing the charm of the Tlawng River means immersing oneself in the untouched wonders of Mizoram, where nature tells its own timeless story.
