Mizoram to launch cashless health care scheme

Mizoram state government is set to launch a new universal health care scheme with cashless facilities. Chief Minister Lalduhoma said in the ongoing assembly on Friday, this scheme will be implemented soon.

Lalduhoma stated that his government is trying to get loans from several banks to put this scheme on the table but is facing hurdles to get a 1000 crore loan from the Asian Development Bank. However, we will bring this scheme soon with or without an ADB loan.

To implement the health plan, the CM held a meeting with the Non-Government Hospital & Association of Mizoram (NGHAM) on Wednesday, after which the government decided to proceed with launching the scheme.

NGHAM has expressed its concern that the government might not be able to pay healthcare bills incurred in private hospitals. But the association agreed with this proposal after getting assurance from the government.

At the end, CM said the scheme is expected to be introduced in the state assembly’s budget session and come into effect from the next financial year.
