Terrorist attack in Kashmir: Several tourists were injured in a targeted terrorist attack at Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. On Tuesday 20 tourists were severely injured and two were killed after terrorists opened fire upon a group of visitors. Emergency services responded promptly, evacuating the wounded to nearby hospitals.

As per the latest updates a high-level meeting was held after the terrorist attack in Kashmir, involving Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The Home Secretary and Intelligence Bureau Chief were also present in the meeting. The Home Minister will visit the site of the incident to take necessary action after a video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Briefed PM Shri @narendramodi Ji about the incident and held a meeting with the concerned officials via video conferencing. Will shortly leave for Srinagar to hold an urgent security review meeting with all the agencies,” Home Minister Amit Shah said on X (formerly Twitter).
CM Abdullah condemned terrorist attack in Kashmir
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condemned the terrorist attack in Kashmir and expressed his shock over the incident.
“I’m shocked beyond belief. This attack on our visitors is an abomination. The perpetrators of this attack are animals, inhuman & worthy of contempt. No words of condemnation are enough. I send my sympathies to the families of the deceased. I’ve spoken to my colleague @sakinaitoo & she has moved to the hospital to oversee arrangements for the injured. I’ll be flying back to Srinagar immediately. #Pahalgam”, CM Abdullah wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Terrorists hid in forests after attack in Kashmir
Firing of gunshots were heard in the upper area of the Baisaran meadow, alerted the security forces. The terrorists took cover in the surrounding forests in the valley (Pahalgam). The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-E-Taiba outfit, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Baisaran meadow, often referred to as “Mini Switzerland,” is renowned for its lush greenery and panoramic views, attracting hundreds of tourists daily. A comprehensive search operation is underway to locate and apprehend the assailants. Authorities have increased security measures across the region to prevent further terrorist attack in Kashmir.
